WHITE HOLES
Cosmic Gushers
The cosmic gusher, the White hole, is at the beginning and end
Of our understanding Of existence.
The universe in fact may be simultaneously exploding
outwards, imploding inwards, and in an oscillating state.
Today we can only talk about our own universe, and its birth
as a cosmically gushing white hole expanding and spiralling
outwards until all that we can detect Of it now is the faint hiss
Of background radiation a few degrees above absolute zero.
But modern astronomers, whose picture Of physics includes,
red giants, white dwarves, event horizons, red shift, quarks,
neutrons, tachyons, quasars and black holes, are now
rebuilding before our imaginations a whole new cosmology.
Energy and matter, space and time, as we know them, may
exist only in corridors and tunnels Of something larger and
indefinable. Our 'common sense' vision Of space as areas Of
nothing thinly filled with gases and galaxies expanding ever
further away from a metaphysical centre and whose behaviour
